About Us

Council Avenue Dental & Implant Centre is a practice devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural appearance of your smile using state-of-the-art procedures and technologies to create bright, healthy and lasting smiles.

A standard of excellence in personalised dental care enables us to provide the quality services our patients deserve. Boasting four surgeries, our practice can accommodate those unexpected dental emergencies. We endeavour to see and care for you as soon as possible in a comfortable, efficient manner.

As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”. That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer examinations and screenings and taking x-rays when necessary.

Building a foundation of trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success. We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience.

Some other benefits of our practice include:

  • Our attention to detail which ensures that your dentistry will be performed safely, precisely and to the highest standard of technical and clinical excellence.
  • We combine state of the art technology with a caring team to ensure our wonderful patients get the best treatment available.
  • With a firm belief in education we regularly re-educate ourselves to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental practice can utilise to provide state-of-the-art dental care.
  • Being members of various professional and dental associations helps us to stay abreast of the changes and recommendations for our profession. Continuing this educational philosophy we strive to provide our patients with all the information so they can make an informed decision regarding their oral health.
  • Our practice has a keen interest and expertise in implant dentistry and restorative care. Implants offer a permanent solution to tooth loss, restoring the function, strength and original appearance of your natural teeth. Our practice is dedicated to providing lasting, quality implant results in a comfortable, efficient manner. We also offer complimentary consultations regarding implant and cosmetic dentistry so you can try before you buy.
  • We understand the anxiety that accompanies many people to the dentist. With this in mind, we offer sleep dentistry (IV Sedation), an effective and efficient option which ensures you receive your dental treatment comfortably and safely.

Dr Eu Guan Koh BDSc (WA) FICOI FICCDE

Dr Koh graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1996 with a Bachelor of Dental Science. Since then he has developed a keen interest in orthodontics, undertaking further training by completing a Fellowship in Orthodontics in 2002. Dr Koh has been practicing orthodontics in general practice for the past 10 years.

A firm believer of early intervention to correct developmental problems such as thumb sucking and tongue thrust swallow habits, which result in malocclusion, Dr Koh knows that these “habits” are difficult to correct in the teenage years when they have become ingrained. He suggests that early intervention utilising the following devices may correct many of these issues and will often result in less complicated treatment in the future.

  • Functional appliances (T4K),
  • Arch expansion devices,
  • Anti-habit appliance

Accredited in the use of “Invisalign” (a series of clear aligners, which progressively straighten teeth) treating selected cases depending on suitability, Dr Koh primarily uses fixed appliance therapy (braces) for the majority of complex cases.

Dr Koh believes orthodontics is for any age and that it will not only improve appearance and confidence but can improve oral health, function and lifestyle. Orthodontics can help align teeth for placement of dental implants thereby replacing teeth that may have been missing for years or are genetically missing. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, which often leads to food impaction causing periodontal disease and Halitosis (gum disease and bad breath).

Adult orthodontics is becoming more prevalent and accepted as people increasingly become aware of the benefits.
